A longtime pediatrician in the Butler area has died.
Dr. William Ashbaugh passed away at his home this past weekend.
Ashbaugh was a Butler native who started his own pediatric practice in the mid-1960s in Butler.
Butler Pediatrics grew into a popular destination for Butler families to bring their children, which led to the practice continuing to grow and adding more physicians.
Ashbaugh eventually retired from the practice, but still assisted with his former physician assistant in starting Quick Care Pediatrics.
Ashbaugh also had a fondness for gardening and his stamp collection.
Friends will be received at the Martin Funeral Home this Sunday from 4-7 p.m.
Ashbaugh was 90.
