The longtime owner and operator of the Geibel Funeral Home has died.
Stephen Geibel passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital earlier this week.
Geibel was the third-generation owner of the Geibel Funeral Home. He started in 1977 and served as funeral director until 2012.
He also was an active member in a number of community groups, including the Elks, Moose, and Knights of Columbus, along with other organizations.
Visitation will be held this Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home Downtown location.
A funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.
Geibel was 80.
