Lottery officials are warning state residents about a scam that originates from Jamaica.
Callers who have reported the scam say that the person on the phone has a Caribbean accent and tells them they have won a fake Mega Millions sweepstakes or another lottery game.
The scammer then tells the victim to make a payment for taxes or other costs. Lottery officials say they will never call or email people at random.
You can visit the Pennsylvania Lottery website to report scams.
