Residents could see a low-flying helicopter inspecting power lines in Butler County over the next several weeks.
According to First Energy, helicopters will be used to inspect the utility company’s entire power grid to identify damage that could lead to service disruption.
These routine inspections use infrared and ultraviolet cameras to detect early-stage equipment issues during arial patrols with speeds around 30 miles per hour.
First Energy has over 2,200 miles of lines in Pennsylvania.
