The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-3 Sunday afternoon. Former Pirate Colin Moran hit two home runs for the Reds, including a grand slam which changed the game after the Bucs had taken a 2-0 lead.
Catcher Michael Perez hit a home run in his first at-bat of the season with the Pirates. He was called up for Sunday’s game after starting catcher Roberto Perez suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader. The two teams split their Saturday doubleheader, after being rained out Friday.
The Bucs open a seven-game home-stand tonight when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers. First pitch is 6:35pm at PNC Park.
Last year’s #1-draft pick catcher Henry Davis has been promoted to Double-A Altoona Sunday. Davis was batting .341 in 22 games at High-A Greensboro. He had nine extra-base hits and 22 RBI’s.
