A longtime Butler institution is now in its final days.
The liquor license sale of the Lyndora Hotel has gone through and its owners are getting ready to close the establishment.
We spoke with the Pawk family, who have owned the Lyndora Hotel since 1947. They said the tentative plans are for next Wednesday, September 6th to be the final day for the bar and restaurant.
The Pawk family said they have been trying to sell the building and license to a local group for the last few years, but could not find a buyer. That’s when they decided to sell the liquor license.
They said it’s a bittersweet moment, but added that “it’s time.”
The Lyndora Hotel has been in existence since 1902 in the heart of Lyndora.
