A McKees Rock man is facing charges in Butler County after he allegedly choked a woman and then left her on the side of the highway.
On Sunday, police were called to I-79 southbound near mile marker 103 in Worth Township for a woman on the side of the highway.
When police arrived on scene, they learned the woman was coming home from Splash Lagoon in Erie with 31-year-old Christopher Bronaugh.
The two had been arguing while at the water park and continued in the vehicle. At one point Bronaugh allegedly grabbed the victim’s throat and hit her several times.
Police say that’s when the victim asked to be let out of the car on the side of the highway.
Bronaugh has been charged with strangulation, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
