A Butler man is in the Butler County Prison after allegedly holding two children and a woman hostage in a Butler City home.
On Tuesday, police were called to the 100 block of Wicks Street just after 9 p.m. for a possible burglary, with suspect heading towards Memorial Park.
After officers were unable to locate the man near the park they returned to the home. The victim claims that she had gotten into an argument with 31-year-old Terrence Fields Jr. over his relapse on drug.
She then claimed Fields would not let her or her two children leave the home all day. Fields also allegedly assaulted the victim when she attempted to leave and damaged several items in the home.
Fields has been charged with two counts of felony false imprisonment, one count of a misdemeanor false imprisonment, strangulation, simple assault, criminal trespassing, and criminal mischief.
His bail was set at $250,000 and a preliminary hearing has been set for February 23.
