
A Philadelphia man accused of killing a Muddy Creek Township man has filed a motion to be let out due to delays in his trial.
26-year-old Paris Carter of Philadelphia is accused of killing David Hines of New Castle and leaving him on the side of the road in Portersville after the two got into an argument in May 2021.
Delays in the trial has led attorney’s for Carter to file for Rule 600, which asks for criminal charges to be dismissed if a trial isn’t brought with in one year.
Carter’s trial was set to begin in January of this year but was delayed after appeals were filed in his case.
A hearing has been scheduled for May 27.
