A Butler City man is facing charges after allegedly taking over $14,000 worth of tools from the back of a work truck in the City of Butler earlier this year.
The incident happened back in March when tools were reported as stolen from a work truck parked on the 400 block of South Washington Street.
According to charging documents, 23-year-old Zachery Detrick was seen walking past the truck on surveillance video. Detrick is accused of returning soon after and taking $14,450 worth of tools.
The victim accused Detrick admitted to the theft to him at a later date.
Detrick has been charged with theft by unlawful taking.
He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
