A Chicora man is facing charges after being accused of stealing a car in Fairview Township.
The incident happened during the overnight hours on July 22 at the Arbors Apartment complex.
According to charging documents, the victim was delivering newspapers when the suspect, 33-year-old Alan McDonald, got in the victim’s vehicle and drove away. While McDonald fled, the victim held on to the vehicle and was dragged toward Monroe Street before letting go. They suffered a knee injury and required stitches to their face.
The next day McDonald was spotted in the vehicle and arrested by police.
McDonald is facing several charges including robbery of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, and receiving stolen property. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 3.
