A Harrisville man is facing charges after he broke into a Butler City apartment and stole a pet.
On Tuesday, police were called to the 400 block of North Washington Street for an alleged break-in and theft of a dog.
The victim accused 37-year-old Wayne Barry of stealing the dog.
Officers found Barry’s vehicle on Main Street and during the stop, Barry allegedly admitted to taking the dog. A search warrant was later acquired for Barry’s home and the dog was located and returned to the victim.
Barry has been charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. Barry is being held in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 27.
