A man from New Castle is facing charges after he allegedly strangled and assaulted his wife.
Police were called to a home on West Sunbury Road in Clay Township just after midnight Saturday for a domestic dispute.
Police say 32-year-old William McCollums strangled and punched his wife.
McCollums then allegedly took off in a side-by-side trying to flee police.
He’s been charged with strangulation, simple assault, and harassment and is being held in the Butler County Prison on $40,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing has been set for January 20.
