
A Butler man has been placed in prison after he allegedly made threats to kill multiple people in a Butler City apartment.
Butler City Police arrested 57-year-old John Mendicino after he allegedly threatened to kill everyone on the sixth floor of the Terrace Apartments on South Cliff Street Tuesday Morning. Witnesses accused him of walking around the floor with a baseball bat banging on doors making the alleged threats.
When policed knocked on Mendicino’s door with a K9 unit, they claim he looked angry. Police say Mendicino ignored orders and was tased. However, that had no effect so a K9 unit was used to bring him into custody.
Police have charged him with two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
He’s been placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail as he awaits a preliminary hearing on June 9.
