A New Castle man is in custody after leading police on a chase through multiple counties over the weekend.
Our news partners at WPXI report the chase started Saturday night in Lawrence County in New Castle. It then went into multiple neighborhoods, including Ellwood City, Zelienople, and into Cranberry.
The suspect was identified as Thomas Reed, who was wanted on previous thefts.
Reed narrowly missed a Zelienople police officer that was laying out spike strips. There was also dashcam video of Reed losing a tire while going through an intersection on Route 19 in Cranberry.
He was eventually taken into custody after trying to shoplift at a T.J. Maxx in Pittsburgh.
