A Butler man has been placed in prison after he allegedly hit a tow truck driver then attempted to evade arrest.
Police were called to University Village at Slippery Rock Apartments on Wednesday for 22-year-old Jacob Campbell.
According to police Campbell’s vehicle was illegally parked in the lot. A tow truck was called and as he began removing the car, Campbell allegedly removed the vehicle from the tow and assaulted the driver. The victim had an injury to their leg and was in significant pain according to charging documents.
Later that day Campbell was spotted by police in the Sheetz parking lot on Franklin Street in Slippery Rock. Campbell fled on foot but would eventually be apprehended by police and taken into custody.
Campbell has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, evading arrest, and more. He’s been placed in the Butler County Prison on $125,000 bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
