A man is in custody after he allegedly robbed and attacked another man in Washington Township.
State police were called to a home on Stewart Road early Friday morning around 2:45 a.m.
Police say the suspect 31-year-old Dylan Hinchberger broke into the house while no one was home. He stole several firearms and waited for the homeowner to return.
When 42-year-old Cody Roxberry of Hilliard came back, Hinchberger allegedly attacked and robbed him outside of the home. After initially fleeing, Hinchberger caught up with the Roxberry again and continued to assault him and fired a gun.
Hinchberger then stole the victim’s car and drove about five miles before crashing into a tree. State police were able to track him to the Quality Inn in Grove City. After initially cornering Hinchberger, he fled out of a second story window into woods.
Eventually, police were able to take Hinchberger into custody after a brief struggle.
Roxberry was listed in critical condition as of this weekend.
