After threatening a woman at work, a Butler man has been placed in the Butler County Prison.
State Police were called to the Dollar General on New Year’s Day in Slippery Rock after a woman accused 29-year-old Derrick Cotton of threatening to break into her home.
The woman told police that Cotton showed up at the store and threatened to shoot her with a gun.
Cotton then left the store but did not break into the home. Police were called to the house but after arriving Cotton was not seen on scene so police went to the Dollar General to interview the woman.
She alleged that in recent days Cotton threw her to the ground, threatened to shoot her, and had made a hand gun gesture at her head.
Cotton was placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail and is facing several charges including simple assault and terroristic threats.
