A Chicora man was charged after he allegedly injured another driver while driving under the influence.
On June 20th, EMS crews were called to the 600 block of Chicora Road for a two-vehicle head on collision with a victim in need of extrication.
During their investigation, police spoke with 36-year-old Justin Ross who said he had just left a bar on Route 38.
While speaking with Ross, police say an odor of alcohol was coming from him. After a field sobriety test, Ross was arrested and taken to the hospital but rejected a blood test.
The victim in the crash suffered several severe injuries including several fractures to her body, foot, and more.
Ross was later charged with aggravated assault while driving under the influence. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
