A Butler man has been charged with hitting a nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital this weekend.
Just before midnight on Saturday, police were called to the intersection of Main and Jefferson Street in Butler City for a man causing a disturbance. The man was identified as 51-year-old Clarence Fletcher Jr.
Police say Fletcher was lying in the middle of the street claiming he was hit by vehicle, however witnesses say that was not the case.
Once at the hospital, medical staff were attempting to complete tests on Fletcher when he allegedly hit a nurse in the jaw with a closed fist. Police had to use a stun gun to get Fletcher under control.
He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Fletcher was placed in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 14.
