
After a break in at the Grapevine Center in Butler Monday morning, services or classes did not need to be stopped or delayed.
Police were called to the Grapevine Center on the 100 block of North Elm Street in Butler City for an overnight break.
When police arrived on scene, they were shown video surveillance of 51-year-old Michael Smith breaking into the building by smashing a window with a wrench.
It’s alleged Smith only took around $9 from the Grapevine Center.
Police found Smith, who admitted to the crime and also breaking into two smoke shops on Main Street the day before.
He’s facing several charges for both crimes including several counts of burglary, criminal trespassing, and theft. Smith is currently in the Butler County Prison on $20,000.
According to Executive Director Bette Peoples, the Grapevine is operating as normal and their were no injuries to staff.
