A man is facing assault charges following a traffic accident that happened months ago in Mercer County.
The incident happened back in July following a two-vehicle crash on I-79 in Findley Township.
State police say 52-year-old Kurt Hopkins of Edinboro hit another vehicle while in a construction zone. The victim pulled over to the side of the road and got out of his car to exchange information.
Police say that’s when Hopkins took off, however the victim was holding onto Hopkins car. The victim was dragged along the shoulder of I-79 before letting go. He suffered injuries and was taken to Grove City Hospital. A child in the victim’s car was also injured in the crash.
Hopkins is now facing numerous charges.
