
A Butler man was placed in prison after he assaulted another man in a Butler City home this weekend.
Police were called to the 200 block of East Walnut Street just before 8 p.m. Sunday for a man assaulting another man.
When police arrived on scene they identified 22-year-old Shaendell Zapata allegedly assaulted another man. The victim needed to be transported to the hospital for injuries to his head and neck.
Police say Zapata broke into an ex-girlfriend’s home and began attacking the victim. The ex-girlfriend attempted to break up the fight but Zapata bit her on her hand as she attempted to break up the fight.
When police arrived on scene they took Zapata into custody and charged him with burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, and simple assault.
He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.
