A man is facing charges for attempted homicide in Butler after allegedly shooting another man in the face in late February of this year.
After 32-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Hernandez arrived at Butler Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds including to the face, police were called to investigate. When they went to the man’s home on the 300 block of East Pearl Street, blood was found leading to Rodriguez-Hernandez’s home.
After a sweep of the residence was completed police were able to secure a warrant and found the alleged gun used to shoot Rodriguez-Hernandez.
They were able to connect the gun to 35-year-old Samuel Lopez through witness testimony and DNA evidence.
Lopez is alleged to have shot Rodriguez-Hernandez after asking for money and being denied. Lopez is facing several charges including attempted homicide and recklessly endangering another person.
