A Butler man interviewed by Homeland Security after the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump has been placed in the Butler County Prison.
Shortly after the attempted assassination of President Trump at the Farm Show in 2024, 36-year-old David Stewart was taken into custody by police to be interviewed.
According to charging documents, years after the interview, Stewart made several threatening posts on social media directed at federal and state officials. That includes calling in a bomb threat to a State Police facility.
Stewart was charged with terroristic threats and had bail set at $500,000.
A preliminary hearing has been set for February 5.
