A New Castle man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted his friends and spit on a police officer.
It happened around 1 a.m. Friday morning on Cameron Drive in Slippery Rock. Police say they were called to a home, where 21-year-old Benjamin Newton was intoxicated and had just assaulted two of his friends.
Police say they attempted to get Newton medical assistance, but he became belligerent and then spat on an officer.
He was arrested and placed in the Butler County Jail.
