A McKees Rocks man is in the Butler County Prison facing attempted homicide charges after an assault over the weekend in Jackson Township.
It happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday according to Jackson Township Police. Authorities say 18-year-old Alex Boyden II allegedly was driving from Allegheny County with a woman, when he drove down a dead-end road just east of Route 19.
Police say Boyden then sexually assaulted the woman and strangled her until she was unconscious. He also threatened to kill her with a knife.
Boyden left the scene and the woman eventually flagged down a vehicle and used the driver’s phone to call 9-1-1.
His car was found earlier this morning by police in Weatherfield, Ohio. It’s currently impounded and will soon be investigated by Pennsylvania State Police.
Boyden is currently being held without bail in the county jail.
