Police in Adams Township have charged a man after it’s alleged he hit a child several times.
The incident happened last Saturday when police were called for a vehicle leaving Mars Elementary School for alleged child abuse. The witness says they saw a child being hit.
When police pulled over the driver, 32-year-old Justin Kinnear of Valencia, officers identified a crying and screaming 4-year-old child. The child was then examined and police found clear red marks and scratches.
The child’s mother was then called to pick them up and Kinnear was charged with endangering the welfare of children and simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing has been set for June 11.
