At least one person was injured as a result of a fire at an abandoned gas well in Forward Township Thursday afternoon.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 1:30 p.m. for a fire at an old well in the 100 block of Tunnel Road just off Brownsdale Road.
Crews from Callery, Evans City, and the Butler County HAZMAT team were among those responding to the scene. The fire was under control after about 20 minutes.
A male in his 60s was reported burned as a result of that fire. His condition is unknown at this time.
