A Butler man pled guilty and was sentenced for an assault that happened last year in the City of Butler.
Police were called to the 100 block of McKean Street last May for an assault that led to the victim being flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for their injuries.
Police charged 44-year-old Mitchell Dongilli for the assault.
On Friday, Dongilli pled guilty to simple assault and was immediately paroled. Although paroled, Dongilli received two to 18 months in prison with time served.
The charges of aggravated assault and public drunkenness were dismissed in the plea agreement. Dongilli will also have to pay the cost of prosecution and fees.
