A former Butler County resident found guilty of possessing child pornography in 2012 has now been convicted for sexual exploitation.
In 2012 it was found that then 41-year-old Richard Snyder searched and downloaded images and videos of child sex abuse material for at least a year before he was formally charged. He served eight years in prison and five years of supervised release for those crimes.
Snyder, a now East Pittsburgh resident, has pled guilty and admitted to violating that supervised released after he was found to search on social media for child sex abuse material.
He will be sentenced in September and could face an additional 10 years in prison and possible a fine up to $250,000.
Snyder will be held in prison as he awaits sentencing.
