A Butler man has been sentenced in the attempted break-in and assault of a police officer in the City of Butler.
In August, police were called to a home on the 200 block of North Bluff Street where they found 48-year-old Valerian Dec breaking into a home.
While being taken into custody, Dec headbutted an officer and injured the officer.
On Thursday, he pled guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 15 to 30 months in prison with 48 months of probation, with 217 days served.
Dec will also have to pay $926 in fines, fees, and restitution.
