An Allegheny County man was sentenced this week after drugs, cash, and an illegal gun was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in nearly four years ago.
In November 2022, police stopped 47-year-old Charles Lloyd of West Mifflin just before 4 p.m. along New Castle Road.
During the stop, officers searched found a handgun, two magazines, cash, and a variety of drugs, including 100 bags of suspected fentanyl.
According to police, Lloyd became aggressive with officers and assaulted two troopers.
On Tuesday, Lloyd pled guilty to possession of a firearm prohibited, manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, resisting arrest, and several misdemeanor drug possession charges.
Two counts of aggravated assault received not guilty pleas from Lloyd.
A passenger in Lloyd’s vehicle at the time of the traffic stop was not charged in this incident.
He was sentenced to 9 to 19 years in prison with 117 days of time served and pay $2,946 in fees and cost of prosecution.
