A Butler man who killed a dog after being rejected by a woman will plead guilty.
In January 2024, a Butler City woman reported that her home was burglarized but the only thing stolen was her dog.
She first accused 28-year-old Joseph Hilliard who initially denied the allegations. However, one year later Hilliard admitted to police he stole and killed the dog.
He will plead guilty to burglary, aggravated cruelty to animals, and tampering with physical evidence.
An official sentencing date has not yet been set.
