Mandated reporters will soon be required to inform authorities in instances they become aware of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
After passing though the house without a single no vote, mandated reporters such as teachers, childcare workers, health care providers, and others responsible for caring for children will be required to report CSAM.
These rules also apply even if the child produces the content but the bill’s main focus is to hold those creating AI-generated CSAM accountable.
The bill will now head to the House Judiciary committee before the house appropriations committee and a vote on the house floor.
