A Mars Elementary Student is doing her best efforts to tackle homelessness in the community.
Ashlynd Warba is a second grader and resident of Valencia. For over a year, she has been collecting coats, hats, blankets, and more through her own initiative “Ashlynd’s Homeless Project.”
Her mother Amber said the idea started after seeing new homes being constructed and believing that new homes should be built for people who don’t have them.
She created the initiative in 2021 and since that time has raised thousands of dollars in donations and hand delivered donations.
This year, Ashlynd is selling bracelets and keychains at Berry Vine Gifts in Bradford Woods with proceeds benefitting her project.
