Two local municipalities are beginning conversations about possibly merging.
Adams Township and Mars Borough are having preliminary discussions about merging into one municipality.
Both local governments have started talking informally with the state Department of Community and Economic Development about a merger.
Officials say the proposed idea of merging stems from trying to make local government more efficient, including “expanded infrastructure support, lower administrative costs, greater purchasing power, and access to grants.”
A public meeting will be held on January 22nd at 6 p.m. at Twelve Oaks Mansion in Mars. Officials are asking that you RSVP in advance.
