After a successful candy collection, a group of local students will be collecting toys for needy children.
The Mars Area Middle School’s Student Government recently announced that they were able to collect nearly 250 pounds of leftover Halloween candy for use in Operation Gratitude care packages.
The group is now holding a toys for tots drive through December 3rd.
New, unopened and unwrapped toys are needed for kids ages 12 and younger. Toys appropriate for kids ages 5 to 9 are especially needed.
Toys can be dropped off at the school’s Main Office during school hours. Monetary donations will be accepted online through the Toys for Tots website.
