Mars high school’s Michael Carmody has been named to the Class 5A All-State Basketball First Team by the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Association. He averaged 19 points and 19 rebounds per game. Carmody is the only player in the commonwealth to be named first team in basketball as well as football. He will attend Notre Dame to play football.
Carmody is joined by Rodney Gallagher of Laurel Highlands as the only players from the WPIAL to make any of the three Class 5A All-State Teams.
