A new program in the Mars Area School District aims to get kids moving before the school day begins.
For students at the Mars Centennial School, once-a-week fifth and sixth graders are given the opportunity to participate in a morning fitness program. Kids have a chance to jump rope, hula hoop, play Spikeball, or even climb on the horizontal wall.
Teachers say it’s all a part of their initiative to get kids to be active and to socialize with friends.
The morning fitness program is open to all Mars Centennial School.
