With the school year right around the corner, the Mars Area School District is reminding residents of their volunteer policies.
The district has set policies for three different categories of volunteers:
- Assistive Volunteers, which are parents or guardians that help with classroom celebrations.
- Independent Volunteers, which are individuals who volunteer with school-affiliated organizations, PTO, or those who help at extracurricular activities like athletics.
- Volunteer coaches and sponsors are those who directly instruct students.
Each category has a specific set of requirements that individuals must obtain before volunteering with the district. More info can be found on the Mars School District website.
