
A local school district plans to give students a look at the potential effects of dangerous driving while another group of students is collecting clothing.
Members of the Girl Scout Troop 28850 are holding a Gently Used School Clothing Drive Monday through Friday to benefit Inspired Hearts and Hands. New socks, underwear, and basic school supplies along with gently used clothing can be dropped off at the main offices for each facility during school hours.
On Tuesday, a mock crash event for Juniors and Seniors is scheduled for just after 9 a.m. in the auditorium parking lot of Mars Area High School. Firefighters from Adams Area, Callery, and Middlesex, along with Adams Township police, the Butler County Coroner, Butler County 911, Life Flight and EMS will all participate.
Some student drivers may need to park at the Mars Area Middle School and ride a shuttle bus to the High School. No one will be allowed to cross Route 228 on foot. This event is part of the Prom Promise campaign and sponsored by the school’s REACH program which stands for Responsible Educated Adolescents Can Help
