Some local students will observe Read Across America Week with theme days during the upcoming week.
On Monday, students at Mars Area Primary Center, Elementary School, and Centennial School will be encouraged to wear Hawaiian or beach apparel for “Surf’s Up for Reading Day”.
Other theme days include “Reading Jogs the Mind Day” on Tuesday, “Read Your Shirt Day” on Wednesday, “Reading Gives You Superpowers Day” on Thursday, and “Be a Storybook Character Day” on Friday.
Mars Area High School Student Council is also holding an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday of this week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the Red Cross website for more information.
