Students return to class today in the Mars School District.
It comes as the district continues to deal with contract negotiations with the teacher’s union.
The previous contract expired in June, and since that time, the two sides have not been able to come to an agreement.
Officials with the union said they are looking for wage increases, along with other improved conditions.
The new school year will also coincide with continued construction at the Mars Elementary School.
