Teachers and school board members in the Mars Area School District are scheduled to be at the negotiating table again tonight.
The contract dispute between the teacher’s union and school board has prompted teachers to threaten to strike this Friday.
The district formally filed to use the services of an independent fact-finder earlier this week. The third party would hear arguments from both sides, and then propose an agreement that could serve as the basis for a new collective bargaining agreement.
Teachers say they’ve been working without a contract since the summer.
