A number of facilities are closed. All county and federal government offices and courts are closed. The PennDOT license center is also closed. Banks are not open. There will be no pickup or delivery of regular mail with all post offices shut down for the day. The Butler Transit Authority is operating and state liquor stores will be open today as well.

You can access the transcript of Dr. King’s speech at the March on Washington where he decries the violence used against civil rights activists and restates his hope for the future. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, a year after that speech.
