May unemployment numbers are out, and it shows another slight decrease in overall unemployment in the state.
According to the Department of Industry and Labor, the unemployment rate is at 6.9 percent—which is down by two-tenths percent since April.
But there continues to be a dramatic difference from this time last year—when unemployment was over 12 percent.
Butler County meanwhile stays below the state numbers, with an unemployment rate of 5.6 percent.
The largest employment gains were in education and health services. The construction sector meanwhile saw the biggest loss.
