A group of McDonald’s restaurants is facing thousands in penalties for violating child labor laws.
The Department of Labor says that Endor Inc., which is based in Cranberry Township and owns McDonald’s locations in the area, employed 34 children and had them work longer than legally permitted.
Officials say that 14 and 15-year-olds were working outside of permissible hours, including more than eight hours during a non-school day.
The violations happened at McDonald’s in Brookville, St. Mary’s, Punxatwaney, and Clarion.
Endor Inc. was fined $26,000 by the Department of Labor.
