Over 200 people have been hospitalized due to measles according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health in their most recent update.
The DOH reports on Wednesday that 74 new measles cases were confirmed on Monday.
Including the first case in Allegheny County.
In total, 1,078 people have been infected, 207 people have been hospitalized, 41 counties have at least one reported case, five people have had a measles-associated death, and four vaccinated people have been infected, but that makes up less than one percent of cases.
Health officials advise everyone over the age six to be fully vaccinated with both doses to drastically reduce chances of hospitalization. More information can be found online through the state website’s Measles Dashboard.
