A local company has received a permit to operate a medical marijuana dispensary facility in Butler.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has awarded Cresco Yeltrah one of 52 dispensary permits statewide to dispense medical marijuana at 201 Pillow Street.
Companies issued permits now have six months to become operational before they will be allowed to dispense the medical marijuana in 2018. A total of five permits were given out in the Southwest Region including two in Allegheny County as well as one in Washington and one in Westmoreland Counties.
Last week Cresco Yeltrah was awarded a growing and processing permit for a site in Jefferson County. Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana program will offer medicine to residents under a physician’s care for treatment of a serious medical condition as defined by the state.
